About Me

My work as an Artist Printmaker in Yorkshire has evolved through my use of computer software for Digital Design and Illustration. Whilst enjoying the computer as a medium I have been drawn back to the hands on nature of printmaking for the satisfaction of texture and process.

My current work focuses on the frustration, stress and pressure of everyday modern life and the escape from it. Despite our best intentions most people speed through life carried along on a tidal wave of everyday frustration and panic. Juggling work and home life leaves us with little time to contemplate or relax. The Work/Buy/Consume/Die ethic with which we find ourselves inextricably tangled, despite our best efforts, leaves us carrying a great deal of stress just dealing with the day-to-day minutiae of our lives. Zombies crop up a lot in my work as a metaphor for the mindless tedium by which we are all ensnared. Sometimes positive, sometimes humorous, sometimes malign they mirror our struggle through life.  

My work also dwells on the escape from modern life to the natural world. I am inspired by the wild landscapes and natural forms that surround my home on the edge of the moor near Holmfirth, Yorkshire, England.
