Caught in the deep Yorkshire snow

Weve been snowed in...
My house is high up in the hills above the Yorkshire market town of Holmfirth. At the first sign of snow he village grinds to a halt. There's not much gritting up here and driving down the hill becomes a test of courage.
When the snow comes the village is still. A thick layer of snow muffles all the sounds and the buses stop. Its beautiful to shut the door behind you and walk out, up the road, across the fields and out into the quiet white spaces...
The isolation brings opportunities to paint and draw. The accompanying paintings are the fruits of being snowed in...
