Back in the studio at last

screenprinting helen aldous

I have finally managed to get back in the studio and start some printing after a long hiatus.

There has been an exciting reason for this enforced break [more will be revealed soon] but its great to get back to getting my hands dirty. I have been working on the Future Worlds print I began work on here. Its so nice to start to see the finished work take shape. I started with the yellow separation and have red, cyan and a black keyline to go.

This work utilises halftones in order to create texture and comic book colour. It's a bit of an unknown quantity at the moment as it's a technique I haven't used before. Check back to see how it turns out.

Great stuff! Are you the first owner of the press? If not do you know its history?

Wish I did own it but I would need a significantly larger garage It lives at West Yorkshire Print Workshop.

My ambition is to get a lovely old cast iron eagle hand press but again I would need to get a big garage
