Vintage Children's Books - Stripey to the Rescue

I have just scanned and posted images of my favourite childhood book.
Its called "Stripey to the Rescue", written and illustrated by Ivy L Wallace.
Its SO sad...
- Little boy has stuffed animals he loves dearly
- Little boy gets sick
- Mother blames it on his beloved animals and sends them to the jumble sale in secret!!! [what kind of mother is this woman!!]
- Little boy gets progressively more ill as he pines for the animals and the Doctor says he can only be saved by safe return of the animals
- Animals escape from jumble sale box and have adventures involving a Circus
- Animals find their way home just in time
- Little boy immediately starts to recover from illness
- Mother sees the error of her ways and welcomes animals like heroes
I couldn't read it without crying as a child and I still can't. Beautiful little book though.
I will be posting more from my collection as I find the illustrations inspirational and I want to share them rather than them hiding away on my shelf.

I know. I could never give my kids toys away. Means they have incredibly cluttered bedrooms but never mind. They are happy
The book is written and illustrated by Ivy L Wallace. Think she did quite a few other books too. This one is SO lovely though...
